February 2018 – Year 3 and 4 Indoor Athletics Finals

Once again BCA triumph at the borough Indoor Athletics final, with us finishing ahead of our two main rivals: Thameside and Quarry Hill. This now makes it six years in a row that we have won this competition. My thanks as ever goes to Mr Garcia for helping our children to perform so brilliantly on the day.

February 2018 – Diversity Mark ‘Silver’ Award

The mayor has visited our school once again this week, this time to officially present our school with the Diversity Mark ‘Silver’ award. You will be pleased to know that we are now working hard going for ‘Gold’ and will be assessed for this hopefully as soon as July this year. Thank-you to the team who have worked hard putting all the evidence together.

April 2017 – Success at the Essex Cross Country ‘Team’ Finals

Well done to all the children who competed at the Essex Cross Country finals which took place at Hadleigh Park.  Our Year 3 girls team, pictured left, did especially well coming 1st and so are now the Essex Cross Country champions for their year group. Both our Year 4 teams also did brilliantly coming 2nd, with the girls team missing out on Gold by just one point!

We were the only school there who managed to win 1 gold and 2 silvers.

April 2017 – KS1 Thurrock Cross Country competition

This time it was the turn of our Year 1 and 2 pupils who it must be said did amazingly well winning in total 3 Golds, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze. Out of the four races, Year 1 boys and girls and year 2 boys and girls, BCA won three of them! Great achievement all round

April 2017 – Essex Cross Country ‘Individual’ Finals

Finally, some of our children, pictured left, took part in the Essex Cross Country ‘Individual’ finals. Our school had the highest number of runners who had qualified for this competition, which is an achievement in itself. Continued thanks go to Mr Garcia who gives up so much of his free time to train these children

January 2017Year 3 and 4 Indoor Athletics Finals

Another great result for BCA at the borough Indoor Athletics finals saw our children coming first ahead of Thameside and Quarry Hill. This now makes it five years in a row that we have won this competition, quite an achievement. My thanks as ever goes to Mr Garcia for helping our children to perform so brilliantly on the day, another reason why he is Primary Teacher of the Year.

April 2016 – Success at this Year’s ‘Key Steps Gymnastic’ Competition

Well done to all the children who took part in the ‘Key Steps Gymnastic’ competition last week, which was held at William Edwards. Our school did really well, with the year 3 and 4 team coming 2nd overall and the year 1 and 2s coming third. Thanks to Miss Bullen and Mrs Willmot for getting the children ready for the competition.

April 2016 – BCA did brilliantly once again at this year’s KS1 Thurrock Cross Country Finals

More success for our runners this month, where the younger year 1 and 2s once again triumphed at this years’ KS1 Thurrock Cross Country finals. In terms of the individual medals, year 1 boys got ‘Gold’ whilst year 2 got ‘Bronze’, with the year 2 girls getting ‘Silver’. In terms of the team results, Year 1 girls got ‘Bronze’, Year 1 boys got ‘Silver’ and both the boys and girls team in year 2 got ‘Gold’. Mr Garcia was quite rightly very proud of each and everyone of them as are all the staff. Well done children and well done Mr Garcia.
